A method of etching the surface of a fired object or kiln shelves by directing a blast of air carrying fine sand onto the surface at high velocity. Since sand is largely silica and is extremely harmful to the lungs, aluminum oxide is a recommended substitute. Use a sand blasting booth or wear a supplied air respirator that covers your head. |
