Reference —  Slip glaze
A glaze that contains a large proportion of clay. Generally one that contains enough flux to form a glaze with few or no additives. Albany slip was widely used as slip glaze in traditional American potteries. Substitutes now offered to replace it are Sheffield (Massachusetts) and Seattle slip clays.
